Do Yourself a Favor, Check Out Woodler

I recently was privileged to speak at SQLDay in Wroclaw Poland… man, I love visiting Poland… Anyway… Great event. Worth your time to attend, and if you’re a speaker, oh, you don’t want to miss this one. The data community there is just amazing.

I always walk through the vendor floor to see what’s what. I get recommended to look at the SQL Server monitoring tool from Woodler. I do.

WOW!

Look, I sell a monitoring tool (please, go here, look at Redgate Monitor), which means, technically, we’re competitors. However, fact is, we’re doing things they’re never going to do, and, hoo boy, they’re doing some stuff that we’re never going to do. Plus, competition is a good thing. Now, they’re primarily a consulting organization, but they use the tool they developed as their principal mechanism for understanding how best to tune your stuff. And man, does it do a nice job. It has drill down for weeks. I was very impressed with both their knowledge of SQL Server, and their focus on performance tuning.

This is just a quick note for you to take a look at Woodler. I found them very interesting. I think you might as well. Performance tuning can be challenging. Bringing in a consulting company can help you meet that challenge.

And no, I am not getting paid or anything. I just had fun talking with them and figured I’d pass them a little attention. Plus, I got a great recommendation for some grappa, so I have a debt to repay.

Oh a grappa fan! Don’t see those every day 😀

Have you heard of PasoPort? They specialize in ports if the name wasn’t obvious, but everything’s great and they make their own grappa which I’ve been told is fantastic by a grappa fan – pasoportwine.com
